AI Funding Pulse: Suno, NewLimit, AlphaSense Land $1.2B in 48 Hours

Suno's Series D, NewLimit's Series C, and AlphaSense's growth round all closed in early June. Three different theses, one common multiple.

Three AI startups closed nine-figure rounds in 48 hours this week, per the early-June funding roundup. Suno raised a $400 million Series D for its consumer music-generation product. NewLimit, Brian Armstrong's longevity-biotech-AI company, closed $435 million in Series C. AlphaSense raised a $350 million growth round at a $7.5 billion valuation for enterprise AI search. Together the three price three different AI theses inside the same market, and the multiples are converging.

The pattern across the three is that the multiple is paying for unique data plus unique workflow lock-in, not for model capability. Suno is paying for the consumer-music dataset and the artist licensing position that took eighteen months to negotiate. AlphaSense is paying for the enterprise research workflow embedded inside hedge funds, banks, and corporate strategy teams. NewLimit is paying for proprietary longevity datasets generated in-house through compute-intensive biology experiments. None of these three could be rebuilt by spinning up a GPT-class model on commodity infrastructure; the moat sits in the data layer below the model.

For the cap-table reading, $7.5 billion for AlphaSense and the implied $4 billion-plus for NewLimit at Series C are meaningful. Both round structures suggest crossover lead participation and a 5-7 year IPO targeting window. Suno's $400M Series D in the consumer category is more aggressive on dilution, but the revenue ramp the music product has shown justifies the round size. All three are now in the "next round is a public market" zone, which makes any 2026 or 2027 IPO market window the relevant exit clock.

The price for "an AI company" peaked. The price for an AI company that owns proprietary data or workflow is still rising. If you are evaluating a Series A, the data-moat question is the multiple driver from here.
