The strategic reasoning is the interesting part, and it runs opposite to how acquisitions of this size usually read. Nvidia's largest customers are building silicon to escape it. OpenAI has Jalapeño with Broadcom, Amazon has Trainium, Google has TPUs, Meta has MTIA, and every one of those programs exists to move workloads off Nvidia hardware.
